Blank Practice Paper FAQ
- Why should I print red or green grids instead of black grids?
- Traditional Chinese exercise books use vermilion red (Seal Red) or muted jade green rulings because high-contrast black pencil or black ink strokes remain effortless to read against warm colored guide lines. If you only have a monochrome laser printer, select Warm Gray so the dashed lines stay lighter than your handwriting.
- How do I prevent my printer from shrinking the square boxes?
- In Adobe Acrobat, Chrome, or macOS Preview print settings, set Page Scaling to 'Actual Size' or '100%' instead of 'Fit to Printable Area'. Our templates already include a 13 mm outer margin and an 8 mm bottom roller buffer.
- Can I print a Pinyin line above each row of blank Tian Zi Ge boxes?
- Yes. Check 'Include dashed Pinyin / note line above each row' in the configuration panel. That adds a dedicated phonetic band above every 8-box row where students can write Pinyin, tone marks, or English/Vietnamese glosses.
- What if I want pre-filled tracing characters instead of blank grid paper?
- Switch to our interactive Chinese Character Worksheet Generator (/worksheet-generator), where you can type any of 9,574 characters to add master models, progressive stroke-order steps, and faded tracing boxes.
- Are both ISO A4 and US Letter formats supported?
- Yes. Toggle between ISO A4 (210 × 297 mm, standard in Asia and Europe) and US Letter (8.5 × 11 inches / 215.9 × 279.4 mm, standard in North America) before downloading your PDF.
